Original post published at 7:46 a.m. Sept. 19 Both Humble ISD and New Caney ISD have announced that schools will be closed Thursday, Sept. 19, due to potential hazardous road conditions and flooding caused by Tropical Depression Imelda. Both districts made announcements at roughly 5:30 a.m. via their respective district websites and social media. Southeast Texas began experiencing rainfall from the storm on Wednesday, and the weather forecasts from the National Weather Service indicate rains will continue Thursday before shifting northeast out of the Houston area on Friday.New Caney ISD and all district schools will be closed Thursday, Sept. 19, and Friday, Sept. 20.
