The Union Pacific Railroad over Hamblen Road in Kingwood collapsed Thursday, causing a blockage at the east-west thoroughfare. There are no reported injuries at this time, said Jessica Beemer, North Sector Manager for the office of Houston City Council Member Dave Martin.

Drivers are being detoured to Kingwood and Northpark drives until the railroad is operational again, Beemer said.

“A few moments ago our office was notified that a municipal railroad bridge over Hamblen Road collapsed,” Beemer said. “We are working with Union Pacific Railroad and HPD to [correct the situation].”

The Houston Police Department Mobile Response Team is providing traffic management support services.
