Why are you running for this position?
I’m a third-generation Humble-ite raising a 12-year-old step-daughter here. In the Lake Houston area, Humble doesn’t get the respect it deserves. I want to see this town become a source of pride for the area, and for people to feel safe living, working and raising their families.
What big-picture things should the city of Humble focus on in the next five years?
All of Houston is growing, but people get the impression that Humble is stagnating. We need to change that mentality. Safe streets: finding housing for the homeless, keeping crime on a downward trajectory and improving sidewalks so our kids get around safely. Sustainable growth and a thriving downtown are priorities.
How will you work toward redeveloping and enhancing the downtown area?
This is an affordable area that could be a paradise of shops, businesses and housing for young people and retirees that want a small-town feel. Where’s our barbecue joint, coffee shop or even a brewery downtown? Main street is an asset that no one can beat; let’s use it!
What budget considerations should City Council consider over the next five years?
With the loss of red-light camera revenue, we’re going to have a major hole in our budget. Same goes for maintaining aging and overbuilt infrastructure. We need to encourage business in the urban core of the city and redevelop underused land (like empty parking lots) to increase our tax base.

Why are you running for this position?
Simply stated, my comprehensive and extensive experience in local business, proven community leadership and responsible asset management equips me to serve as an effective Humble City Council member dedicated to fostering ongoing positive growth and community stability. I assure you I am uniquely qualified, professionally competent while demonstrating servant leadership.
What big-picture things should the city of Humble focus on in the next five years?
Amidst the dynamic growth patterns in and around our city, a balanced approach is essential, considering both the benefits and the impacts on current and future infrastructure. Traffic management, along with police and fire protection, must evolve carefully with city code enforcement to ensure positive growth and enhanced community development.
How will you work toward redeveloping and enhancing the downtown area?
Over the 40 years we’ve resided in Humble, I've observed the numerous variations of downtown redevelopment which are closely tied to the prevailing economic conditions. As an experienced real estate broker, owner, appraiser and businessman, I am committed to actively engaging with local merchant associations to attract perspective business proprietors.
What budget considerations should City Council consider over the next five years?
For decades I’ve applauded the fiscal management of our city, which is a direct reflection of our city’s leadership. I would continue to strive for responsible spending restraints while ever mindful of the constant need to improve, enhance and maintain the quality of life and facilities we all have enjoyed.
