Due to school breaks and winter weather, Humble ISD and New Caney ISD have seen major drops in their respective active COVID-19 case counts.
HISD has a total of 39 active cases, according to the district’s dashboard. Five cases are from employees who work in staff buildings. All three levels of instruction saw drops as the entire district shut down from Feb. 15-19 due to winter weather. Active case counts only include cases reported in the last 14 days.
NCISD has a total of 26 active cases, according to the district’s dashboard. Although NCISD was closed for a scheduled midwinter break and not due to weather, it also saw a drop in its active case count. Middle and high schools saw the sharpest decreases during the district’s week off, as both went from double digits to only four cases each.
