By late spring,
Yummy Tummy Pastries is planning to move within the city of Humble from 1005 First St. E. to 241 FM 1960 Bypass Road E.
According to owner Letty Martinez, Yummy Tummy Pastries—which first opened in 2010—offers staples like strawberry shortcake, cookies and brownies, as well as a rotating menu of seasonal items. The bakery also works closely with patrons to create custom cakes for a variety of celebrations ranging from birthdays to weddings.
"We were blessed with growth," Martinez wrote in an email Feb. 24. "When I first opened Yummy Tummy, I took over a business that sold ice cream in what used to be a bar. We painted over cinder blocks and tried to make it as pink and beautiful as we could. Eventually, we were able to transform our location. After opening our location in New Caney, I realized how much we had grown and the need for space. We decided to make the leap and relocate. We found a spot that has more access to the big road and, as a bonus, this time I could really make the bakery of my dreams—a labor of love for yummy sweets. With the help of family and close friends, my dream is becoming a reality."
Martinez noted the new Humble location will be inspired by the aesthetic of the bakery's New Caney location, which opened in Valley Ranch Town Center in 2019. While Martinez originally planned a grand opening for the new Humble location Feb. 18, she said the celebration has since been postponed due to supply chain issues that are delaying some of the equipment vital to the bakery's operation. 281-446-0450.
