"Because Hurricane Harvey already impacted 10 days of instructional time, an additional school closure would further impact extra- and co-curricular activities," Media Relations and Multimedia Manager Maria Corrales DiPetta said via email.

The Houston Astros won their first Wold Series in the baseball club's 56 season history Wednesday, according to MLB.com. The Astros baseball franchise began as the Houston Colt .45s in 1962.

"Campuses will have the option to show the parade during the school day, as we are all very excited for our Houston Astros and the community spirit their win has fueled," Corrales DiPetta said.
