Ballots have been counted and Katy ISD officials have announced totals for the three contested races for Katy ISD board of trustee positions, including early voting and election night totals.

Position 3


Incumbent Ashley Vann earned 57 percent of the vote, or 2,279 votes. Opponent David Velasquez garnered 27 percent or 1,081 votes, and Candace Perkins earned 15 percent, or 612 votes. Vann has served on the KISD school board for three years.

Vann could not be reached for comment on election night.

Position 4


Incumbent Courtney Doyal has earned 59 percent of the vote, or 2,364 votes, according to unofficial results. Carlos Young garnered 41 percent, or 1,634 votes. Doyal has served on the KISD school board since 2014.

"I am thrilled. I love my position on the school board," Doyal said. "I’m humbled by the number of supporters that came out to vote, and I’m ready to continue working on behalf of the students, teachers and taxpayers in the Katy ISD school district."

Position 5


Bill Lacy earned 60 percent of the vote, or 2,451 votes, while incumbent Henry Dibrell received 40 percent, or 1,593 votes.

Lacy is employed as a mortgage lending professional. He could not be reached for comment on election night.

All results are unofficial until canvassed.
