Texas Children's Hospital West Campus is celebrating 15 years of serving patients across West Houston, hospital officials announced in a March 5 news release.
The big picture
As the first pediatric hospital along the I-10 Energy Corridor, Texas Children's West has served more than 5 million patients, including over 50,000 emergency department visits per year, according to the release.
The hospital, which opened in 2011, offers a number of pediatric subspecialties, including:
"For 15 years, Texas Children’s Hospital West has demonstrated our commitment to bringing exceptional pediatric care closer to home for the patients and families we serve,” said Dr. Debra F. Sukin, president and CEO of Texas Children’s. “We are constantly evaluating how we elevate and expand our pediatric subspecialized care to the growing population of west Houston and its surrounding Harris, Fort Bend, and Waller Counties."

“Fifteen years ago, we opened Texas Children’s West with a vision to bring outstanding pediatric care closer to families on the west side of Houston,” said Dr. Ketrese White, president of Texas Children’s Hospital West and Woodlands. “It is thanks to the more than 1,300 of our dedicated physicians, nurses, staff and volunteers whose unwavering commitment has made this hospital a trusted place of healing and hope for generations of children.”
Looking ahead
Hospital officials aim to continue broadening access to advanced pediatric services and investing in cutting-edge technologies, per the release.
