Work has begun on Fulshear Junction, a new mixed-use development, near Downtown Fulshear.

A closer look

Representatives from Fulshear and the project’s developer, Century Communities, gathered April 29 to celebrate the groundbreaking of the 126.9-acre development located north of FM 1093 and west of Wallis Street, adjacent to the Polo Ranch community, officials announced in an April 29 news release.

The development was approved by Fulshear City Council last May, with a developer goal to promote community connectivity and spur economic development near downtown, project officials previously said.

  • Five commercial and mixed-use areas totaling 21.21 acres, which will feature shops, restaurants and offices, including a national day care facility already under contract
  • Parks
  • Recreational areas
  • 5.3-acre detention pond
Notable quote

"Fulshear Junction is a special opportunity for homebuyers in the west Houston area, offering a truly walkable community with parks, trails and access to commercial amenities," Russell Edwards, Houston division president for Century Communities, said in the release. "And with beautiful floor plans that emphasize front-porch living, Fulshear Junction is uniquely designed to foster a sense of community."

Looking ahead

The developer agreement states only 100 homes can be built in the first 12 months, followed by 100 the next 12 months and the remaining following, officials previously said.
