Zooming inAlthough the 77007 and 77019 ZIP codes saw small increases in homes sold when comparing the two months, each of the other three ZIP codes saw at least 14 fewer homes sold. Only six homes sold in the 77098 ZIP code in August.

The median price of homes sold was up in three of five local ZIP codes when comparing August 2024 with August 2023. The median price was between $450,000 and $700,000 in each of the five ZIP codes, with the highest median price found in 77006.
With total home sales down overall, the average number of days a home spends on the market before selling also rose in four of five local ZIP codes, dropping only in 77098. The average days on market still remained under two months in all five ZIP codes, with homes selling fastest—roughly one month on average—in 77007.
The breakdown in how homes sell by price range has remained consistent over the
past three months, with around 40% selling for between $500,000-$750,000. Around 17% sold for more than $1 million.
