Memorial Hermann Health System announced a partnership with GoHealth Urgent Care in June related to the operation of nine existing Memorial Hermann urgent care centers, including another Heights-area center on North Loop 610.
“Memorial Hermann’s commitment to delivering high-quality care coupled with GoHealth’s advanced technology and expertise in the urgent care space will provide patients of all ages with the best possible health care experience,” said Dr. Michael Bublewicz, chief medical officer of Memorial Hermann Health System Emergency Medicine and Urgent Care, in a statement.
The new Shepherd Drive center is the first to incorporate design elements from GoHealth, including widescreen monitors designed to allow patients to follow along as providers update their charts.
The center will cater to patients ages 6 months and older with services that include treatment for non-life-threatening conditions, on-site X-rays, COVID-19 testing and treatment, sports physicals for children and flu vaccines. Integrated electronic medical records at the site can also be accessed by caregivers across the Memorial Hermann network, according to a Dec. 12 news release.
Patients do not need to have a provider within the Memorial Hermann network to receive care at the urgent care center.
More new Memorial Hermann-GoHealth centers are slated for the Tanglewood, Royal Oaks, Kingwood, Willis and Magnolia Place communities.
