Zanti Cucina Italiana, an Italian restaurant the opened in The Woodlands in 2019, announced plans Sept. 23 to open a second location in early November at the River Oaks Shopping Center, 1958 W Gray St., Houston.

The eatery specializes in made-from-scratch Italian dishes while offering a bar area with a mixology and wine program.

“Houston has an incredibly diverse culinary scene, and we are excited to bring Zanti to serve a wider range of customers in River Oaks,” CEO and Founder Santiago Peláez said in a statement.

The new venue will feature 7,747 square feet of interior space and 1,192 square feet of patio space, according to a Sept. 23 press release.

The kitchen is lead by chef Stefano Ferrero, who grew up in Italy and seeks to recreate the Italian tradition of gathering around a table to enjoy meals, according to the release. Stefano will be joined at the River Oaks spot by Executive Chef Hilario Zamora, whose resume includes Grupo Pasta, Quattro, Nonna Cucina Bar and Alfredo di Roma.
