Demolition permits sold this week include an expansion project at the Christian Community Service Center and a new daycare coming to the Rice Village area. The Christian Community Service Center is tearing down its J. Dean Robinson building at 3434 Branard St., Houston, to make way for a new $10 million building that will bear the same name. The CCSC was created in 1980 through a partnership among St. Luke’s United Methodist, St. John the Divine Episcopal, St. Andrews Presbyterian, Central Presbyterian, Bethany Christian and St. Stephen’s Episcopal. "This strategic expansion will house the work done every day and position CCSC to continue to achieve its mission for the next 25 years," a statement on the center website reads. A demolition at 2321 Bissonnet St. could be making way for Kido, a new chain of preschools currently based in London. According to the company's website, its Rice Village location will open in 2020.
