The Lake Houston area has seen growth in the health care sector in recent years, offering residents immediate access to primary care physicians, urgent care and emergency clinics. Officials said the industry is growing to meet the demand of the region’s growing population. Regional hospitals, such as Memorial Hermann Northeast and HCA Houston Healthcare Kingwood, both completed expansions in late 2018. Memorial Hermann Northeast completed its $70 million patient tower in November, while HCA Houston Healthcare Kingwood finished its $35 million expansion of its south tower in August. Meanwhile, Vital Heart and Vein relocated to its new 65,000-square-foot medical office building in February, providing numerous physicians specializing in cardiovascular disease. Nova Medical Centers also relocated in mid-March from Hwy. 59 North to a new state-of-the-art facility on the south side of Hwy. 59 on Humble Westfield Road.
