Officials with Memorial Hermann Cypress Hospital announced plans for a $277.5 million campus expansion project to be completed by 2027, according to a July 16 news release.

This will be the third expansion since the hospital opened in 2017 at 27800 Hwy. 290, Cypress.

The details

The expansion will add 58 hospital beds as well as 347,000 square feet of new and renovated space, officials said.

A new six-story tower will be added with the potential to expand to eight floors in the future. The North Tower will feature 12 inpatient rehabilitation beds and a rehabilitation gym from TIRR Memorial Hermann, according to the release, as well as a new dialysis suite, and the hospital’s kitchen and cafe.


An additional 40 universal beds will also be included in the tower for a total of 201 beds across the campus.

What else?

Expansion plans also include:
  • Increasing the Emergency Center’s bed count from 27 to 40 with eight pediatric rooms and four trauma rooms
  • Four new operating rooms with space for up to six more in the future
  • An additional cardiac catheterization lab/interventional radiology suite
  • A new C-section suite and six neonatal intensive care unit beds
  • Two new beds in the OB Emergency Center for a total of five beds
  • Renovations for ancillary department growth in the main tower, including sterile processing, pharmacy, lab, materials management and respiratory therapy
  • Relocating the Memorial Hermann Life Flight helipad to the roof of the main tower
