Lone Star College-University Park’s artificial intelligence program is getting new equipment following a $12,000 donation from the Society of Information Management’s Houston chapter, according to an April 16 news release.
SIM Houston, a group of local information technology industry leaders, presented the donation at its annual charity golf tournament April 11, officials said. The organization partnered with LSC-UP to help launch its AI lab last year.
“Strong partnerships like this allow our college to offer meaningful, future-forward experiences for our students,” LSC-UP President Matthew Dempsey said in the release. “We’re proud to continue working with SIM Houston to grow this program and connect our students to real-world innovation.”
