Officials with Bridgeland on Jan. 18 dedicated a 1-acre park to Mark Henry, who retired at the end of 2023 after serving as Cy-Fair ISD’s superintendent for 12 years.

Dr. Mark Henry Park is located adjacent to Wells Elementary School, Sprague Middle School and Bridgeland High School along a 1-mile linear park system called Parkland Common.

“We are honored to dedicate one of Bridgeland’s parks to such a beloved resident and leader within our community,” said Jim Carman, president of the Houston region for Howard Hughes, in a statement. “It is our vision that Dr. Mark Henry Park will serve as a gathering spot and place for imaginative play for our residents, and provide safe connections for students walking to school for years to come.”
