By the end of the day Monday, the first day of early voting for the 2018 midterm elections, 20,158 ballots had been cast in Montgomery County.

That number compares to first-day early voting numbers of 333 in 2017; 20,432 in 2016 for the presidential election; 1,833 in 2015; and 8,538 in 2014.

This year on the first day 11,180 votes were cast in person and 8,978 were by mail. The busiest location was in The Woodlands with 3,143 voters on the first day.

There are 315,320 residents registered to vote in Montgomery County, up from 308,590 in 2017 and 286,310 in 2016.

Early voting runs Oct. 22-26 from 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Oct. 27 from 7 a.m.-7 p.m., Oct. 28 from noon-5 p.m. and Oct. 29-Nov. 2 from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. During early voting, registered voters in Montgomery County can vote at any of the following early voting polling locations countywide.
