The Sunny Creek Ranch Horses for Heroes Program is receiving a $1,000 grant from the national nonprofit Petco Love, according to a Nov. 27 news release.

Founded in 1999, Petco Love is a national nonprofit implementing change for pets by gathering community support toward commitment for animal welfare. Since it was founded, the nonprofit has contributed $370 million in adoption and other lifesaving efforts through its partnership with over 4,000 organizations.

According to the release, the investment in Sunny Creek Ranch is part of a $1 million grant recently announced by Petco Love for over 60 service, therapy and working animal organizations that help pets in shelters.

Among the organizations benefited, The Sunny Creek Ranch is a veteran-operated nonprofit that engages rescued therapy horses and veterans through professional interventions by licensed mental health professionals.
