PREVIEW: Montgomery County to discuss Willis ISD’s Calfee Middle School, FY 2025-26 budget hearings

Montgomery County commissioners are anticipated to discuss matters related to Willis ISD’s new middle school campus, Calfee Middle School, and the upcoming fiscal year 2025-26 budget during its upcoming meeting Aug. 12.

According to the agenda packet, County Judge Mark Keough will discuss Calfee Middle School and the city of Conroe. As previously reported, the school had been without water ahead of its scheduled first day of classes Aug. 13 due to issues with the certificate of convenience and necessity.

The city of Conroe has since activated water service, as reported.

Commissioners will review plans for FY 2025-26 budget hearings, with budget workshops scheduled to begin Aug. 12 following the regular meeting. The court will also consider the temporary use of property at 1519 Oddfellow St. in Conroe after the current lessee vacates, per the agenda.

The meeting will be held at 9:30 a.m. Aug. 12 at 501 N. Thompson St., Ste. 402 in Conroe. The meeting will also be livestreamed on the county's website.
