With both election day precincts reporting in Montgomery County, unofficial results show Duke Coon, David Hairel and Shana Arthur have held on to their leads to earn victories in their respective runoff races June 15.Two-minute impact
The results of the election will see three new members on the council.
Current Place 1 council member Todd Yancey lost his mayoral bid to Coon, and incumbent Place 2 council member Curt Maddux was defeated in his re-election bid by Arthur. However, Coon previously served on Conroe City Council.
All three winning candidates received between 52%-54% of the total vote in their races.
In the mayoral race:
- Coon received 3,495 votes, or 54.09% of the total.
- Yancey received 2,967 votes, or 45.91% of the total.
- Hairel received 3,389 votes, or 52.87% of the total.
- His opponent, Susan Johnson, received 3,021 votes, or 47.13% of the total.
- Arthur received 3,458 votes, or 53.9% of the total.
- Maddux received 2,957 votes, or 46.1% of the total.
What else
According to the Montgomery County Elections Office website, the online results may not include all absentee ballots.

Duke Coon, David Hairel and Shana Arthur have taken early leads in runoff elections for Conroe City Council positions on June 15, according to unofficial early voting results from Montgomery County.
What you need to know
Unofficial early results include early voting numbers and counted absentee ballots with no election day precincts reporting.
In the mayoral race:
- Coon, a former council member, has received 2,800 votes, or 54.73% of the total.
- His opponent, current Place 1 council member Todd Yancey, has received 2,316 votes, or 45.27% of the total.
- Hairel, a retired business owner, has received 2,710 votes, or 53.43% of the total.
- His opponent, real estate broker Susan Johnson, has received 2,362 votes, or 46.57% of the total.
- Arthur—a retired businesswoman with finance and community service experience—has received 2,776 votes, or 54.72% of the total.
- Her opponent, incumbent council member Curt Maddux, has received 2,297 votes, or 45.28% of the total.
All three races required runoffs after elections held May 4 for the three positions resulted in no candidates in any of the races receiving at least 50% of the votes in their respective elections.
Yancey, Maddux and Johnson received the most votes in their races May 4.
