See updates on 6 Conroe ISD construction projects

On Dec. 17, the Conroe ISD board of trustees received updates regarding campus construction and improvements planned as part of the district’s $1.9 billion 2023 bond package as well as several from the $653.57 million 2019 bond package.

What's happening

Here are some of the projects underway in the district.

Rob Eissler Elementary School

• Project: The new elementary school funded by the 2023 bond will have a 950-student capacity and serve The Woodlands High School feeder zone.
• Update: Construction is slightly behind schedule, said Easy Foster, executive director of planning and construction for the district.
• Location: 14000 Old Conroe Road, Conroe
• Timeline: March 2024-August 2025

Mittie J. Campbell Elementary School

• Project: The new elementary school will have a 950-student capacity in the Oak Ridge and Caney Creek high school feeder zones.
• Update: Construction is ahead of schedule with brickwork underway as well as construction of a waterproof roof, Foster said.
• Location: 15895 Stonecrest Drive, Conroe
• Timeline: March 2024-August 2025

Grand Oaks campus

• Project: The new school will serve seventh, eighth and ninth grades in the Grand Oaks High School feeder zone.
• Update: The crew is halfway through building slab construction, and building steel has been installed in parts, Foster said.
• Location: 28075 Woodson’s Grand Drive, Spring
• Timeline: March 2024-January 2027

Timber Mill High School

• Project: The new high school will create a new feeder with students from Conroe and Caney Creek high schools
• Update: The crew is clearing the dirt and building pads are being placed, Foster said.
• Location: Loop 336 next to Stockton Junior High School
• Timeline: November 2024-August 2027

Conroe High School

• Project: The school is making improvements to its campus to accommodate student growth.
• Update: A new front entrance has been completed, Foster said.
• Location: 3200 W. Davis St., Conroe
• Timeline: completion in 2026

Conroe High School Tennis at Ninth Grade Campus

• Project: A tennis court is being built for a ninth-grade campus.
• Update: Tennis courts have been poured and courts will be installed when students return in January.
• Location: 400 Sgt. Holcomb Blvd. N., Conroe
• Timeline: completion in January 2025
