LSC will award diplomas and certifications to students who fulfilled their requirements in summer and fall 2022 as well as candidates who will complete their programs in spring and summer 2023. According to a news release May 8, Lone Star College awarded 9,476 students with a degree or certificate during spring 2022 commencement celebrations, representing a 2% increase from 2021. In addition, LSC conferred 103 baccalaureate degrees during a special ceremony.
Community Impact reported in 2022 that both LSC-University Park and LSC-Tomball saw record numbers in graduation last year. LSC-University Park awarded 1,010 diplomas in 2022, the largest graduating class in the college's history. LSC-Tomball graduated more than 800 students in 2022. Graduation numbers for 2023 were not available before commencement.
“Commencement marks a new beginning for our new graduates, whether they choose to further their education at a four-year university or enter the workforce,” LSC Chancellor Stephen C. Head said in a news release. “We are extremely proud of their accomplishments and are excited to share this momentous occasion with them and their loved ones.”
