Following a special board meeting May 21 to interview candidates, the Montgomery ISD board of trustees offered the interim superintendent position to Ann Dixon. Dixon has accepted the position, according to MISD officials.

Dixon has experience serving as interim superintendent at several school districts across the state, trustee Matt Fuller said in a Facebook post. The job posting was from June 1 to Aug. 1, according to MISD officials.

The move follows current Superintendent Beau Rees' announcement that he will be leaving the district to become Weatherford ISD's new superintendent.

In the meantime, the MISD board of trustees is still searching for a permanent superintendent. The search firm is conducting a survey until May 25 seeking public input for a new superintendent, which can be accessed here.
