The city of Webster is sponsoring
The Leader in Me at McWhirter Elementary School, furthering Clear Creek ISD’s goal to expand the program to every campus.
Webster has pledged to donate $44,000 over the next five years to support the phased implementation of the program at McWhirter, according to a Feb. 22 district news release.
“The city of Webster is honored to support The Leader In Me program at McWhirter Elementary,” Webster Mayor Donna Rogers said in the release. “This vital program provides the tools to help children, and our future leaders, develop mindfulness, resilience and critical thinking skills they need for success in life.”
CCISD is in its third year of implementing
The Leader in Me districtwide. So far six schools—Armand Bayou, Bay, Falcon Pass, Space Center, Whitcomb and McWhirter elementary schools—have adopted the program, which develops leaders through a focus on culture, academics and leadership, according to the release.
The six schools recently held a leadership showcase to demonstrate their leadership and academic progress through the program’s tools and training.
