According to a Jan. 2 news release, Sabina has 15 years of health care leadership experience in the Greater Houston region. He first joined HCA Healthcare in August 2017 as assistant vice president of strategic planning for the Gulf Coast Division.
He was later named CEO at HCA Houston Healthcare in Tomball in 2019. He most recently served as CEO of HCA Houston Healthcare in Conroe, a position he's held since 2021.
During his time at HCA Houston Healthcare Conroe, Sabina led the programmatic build of the hospital's Comprehensive Stroke Program, which involved the hospital becoming the fifth stroke-designated hospital in Montgomery County equipped with the technology, physicians and stroke care team to treat strokes.
According to the release, Sabina was also involved in the operational improvement of surgical services in Conroe, which resulted in a marked increase in elective cases and robotic-assisted procedures, such as cosmetic surgery, hernia repair and bariatric surgery.
Sabina earned his Bachelor of Science from Purdue University and his Master of Business Administration from the University of Minnesota. He will assume his new role effective Jan. 6.
