Local family-owned restaurant group Adair Concepts added a West University area restaurant staple to its ownership portfolio.

Buffalo Grille has been serving diners on Bissonnet Street for 40 years and counting. According to a June 20 news release, the casual, neighborhood restaurant will be under new ownership.

Adair Concepts will also assume ownership of the newer Buffalo Grille location at 1301 S. Voss Road, Houston.

What they're saying

Adair Group officials said in a news release that they're mindful of keeping the restaurant's traditions and don't plan to alter them.

"Customers need not worry about menu modifications. The same delicious hotcakes, biscuits and gravy, huevos rancheros and egg scrambles will rule the breakfast scene, while burgers, quesadillas, catfish, chicken fried steak and loaded bake potatoes will continue as lunch and dinner must-haves," according to the release.

What's happening

Under the new ownership, building improvements will take place at both the West University and Tanglewood locations, including:
  • Design tweaks to enhance interiors and exteriors
  • Upgrades to provisions including orange juice, farm-fresh eggs and fresh produce
"We want Buffalo Grille to continue as it was; as it is—classic neighborhood spots, each with its own unique history and habits. Those are the things we want to preserve as we go forward," Adair Concepts President Nick Adair said in a news release.
