“We’ve been looking for a larger space for the last few years and are very excited to be relocating just across the street to the historic Eldorado Ballroom,” the statement read.
Long story short
Since opening Kindred Stories in partnership with Houston’s Project Row Houses in 2021 during the COVID-19 pandemic, the independent bookstore has hosted in its space events including author talks. The bookstore highlights Black literature and other marginalized voices, according to its website.
“Being open six days a week and hosting hundreds of events, we are so proud of the ways we maximized our small space and beautiful Reading Garden, but alas, it’s time to move on and we couldn’t be more ready,” the statement read.
Guests were able to shop at the bookstore’s former location until May 4.
