A new gourmet cheese shop is coming to Rice Village.

A Cheese Affair is slated to open in the late summer/early fall, owner Randolph Daniels-Kolin confirmed in an email. The new gourmet cheese shop will take over the former location of Aveda located on Morningside Drive.

"We are waiting for permits to start remodeling," Daniels-Kolin said.

What’s special about it?

In addition to French cheeses, the owner said the store will also carry American and other European cheeses. A Cheese Affair will be the first transatlantic member of the French Federation of Cheese Shops, he said.
