An integrated network of veterinary clinics will make its way to Houston’s Rice Village and Heights neighborhoods in 2024.

Modern Animal, a Los Angeles-based veterinary startup, employs technicians and provides pet owners memberships to its clinics and care teams. According to an Aug. 24 news release, the company aims to change the status quo for pet care by prioritizing the needs of individual pet owners and practitioners.

Per the news release, the anticipated Heights location at 238 W. 19th St., Houston, will open by mid-2024. The Rice Village site, located at 6027 Kirby Drive, Houston, is expected to open in late 2024.

Modern Animal clinics are designed to foster a warm and inviting environment for pets and parents to feel welcome, per the release.

The membership-based practice also lets pet owners use a mobile app to provide round-the-clock virtual care, the ability to book appointments and access to pet’s records.

Modern Animal founder and CEO Steven Eidelman announced the network of clinics also plans to expand into Arizona, Colorado and Georgia in 2024. Two new appointments to its executive team were made in support of that growth, per the news release.
