Traditionally, Landing Boulevard, Magnolia Lane and West Bay Area Boulevard have intersected with League City Parkway with four-way stop signs. These are being replaced with traffic signals to reduce traffic delays and prepare for the city’s future growth, according to a news release from the city.
Additionally, the city is adding dedicated right-turn lanes at some of the approaches. So far, some of the new infrastructure, such as right-turn lanes and traffic signal foundations, has already been installed.
Work to install turn lanes at the Landing intersection began in mid-January, and left-turn lanes are completed. Production delays mean the signal poles and related equipment will be delivered as late as the end of April.
The project’s budget is $1.9 million.
