There are a number of transportation projects happening in the Bay Area. Read down below to see the scope, cost, timeline and funding source for each one.

League City Parkway right-turn lane

An extended eastbound right-turn lane for League City Parkway is under design. The turn lane will begin about 450 feet west of Butler Road and run about 300 feet west of the I-45 southbound frontage road, where the lane will tie into the existing right-turn lane built by the Texas Department of Transportation. The project was originally expected to be underway by summer 2022 but is now expected to begin second quarter of 2023.

Cost: $2.05 million


Funding sources: city of League City, Galveston County



Calder Road widening

Calder Road’s east side will be widened 8 feet from FM 517 to about 300 feet north to provide two southbound lanes on the approach to the FM 517 intersection. TxDOT plans to construct a signal at Calder and FM 517.


Timeline: early 2023-TBD

Cost: $290,000
