A gas line break at the intersection of Ramada Drive and Diana Lane on Sept. 8 has forced the closure of several Bay Area office, government and school buildings.

Clear Creek ISD and the Harris County Constable Precinct 8 office reported the leak around midday, according to reporting from ABC13 and an email from CCISD's safe and secure schools department. The Houston Fire Department is on the scene of the leak, and both the cause and the repair timeline are unclear as of noon Sept. 8.

Four CCISD campuses—Clear Lake City Elementary School, Clear Lake Intermediate School, Space Center Intermediate School and Whitcomb Elementary School—are under a shelter-in-place order for external hazards. Students on these campuses will be brought indoors, with other appropriate safety measures taken, until the all clear is given, per district communications.

The leak has also forced the evacuation and temporary closure of the constable's office and other area government buildings, ABC13 reported. Phone delays to the office's call center will be ongoing until the phone transfer process is complete, and residents are asked to contact the Pasadena location at 281-479-2525, per ABC13.
