Relocations
The McDonald’s famous for the astronaut statue on its roof, located at 1421 NASA Parkway, Houston, closed over the summer to allow for the opening of a new nearby location at 1316 E. NASA Parkway. The new location—which, according to Nassau Bay officials, is expected to be given a new astronaut statue—has double drive-thru lanes and improves upon the old location’s access by being located at the intersection of NASA Parkway and Nassau Bay Drive. 281-957-9446. www.mcdonalds.com

In September, the Bay Area Houston Advanced Technology Consortium, or BayTech, announced the Texas Governor’s Office had awarded BayTech a $324,000 grant. The grant offers certified manufacturing technician training to eligible unemployed higher school graduates and others as aerospace composite and electrical technicians, according to a BayTech press release.
