What you need to know
The week of July 7, the shelter had what officials described as an “amazing” number of adoptions—20 dogs and 33 cats—due in part to the ongoing 50% off adoption fees promotion that ends July 19, officials said in a social media post.
Still, the shelter recently found 10 dogs, 14 cats and one chicken, which are currently being kept in the stray hold, adding to the overcrowding, officials said.
The shelter was recently recognized as a no-kill shelter, Community Impact previously reported.
