Butler Road and Turner Street and in League City could undergo $6.8 million in improvements.

League City City Council will vote on whether to award two construction bids totaling $6.8 million for improvements to Butler Road and Turner Street when it meets March 25.

The combined $6.8 million project can be broken down into two bids:
  • $6.1 million to League City-based Lucas Construction Company, Inc. for Phase 2 reconstruction
  • $612,000 to Lucas Construction Company, Inc. for a work change directive
  • $98,000 to Fort Worth-based UES Professional Solutions 44 for materials
The project will replace 6,550 square yards of asphalt roadway with concrete pavement, install new water lines and sidewalks and relocate utilities along the roadways.



What else?

Streets have a projected life expectancy of 40 to 50 years, according to city documents. Approximately 30% of the city’s streets are more than 30 years old.

One more thing

City council will also consider awarding D. Wagner Construction a $473,000 project to make emergency repairs to Butler Road lift station’s 42-inch gravity sewer.
