League City City Council will vote on the proposed tax rate of $0.371461 per $100 valuation, which is the no-new-revenue rate, at its regular meeting on Sept. 10.

At the meeting, the council will also consider an increase in the value senior residents can deduct from their home appraisal value, city documents show.

What happened

City staff first presented a proposed budget draft to city officials at a July 23 workshop.

Following the July 23 workshop, city officials met with constituents to discuss the budget at several workshops held on July 30, Aug. 6 and Aug. 13.

What else?

City Council will also consider a resolution to increase the senior homestead tax exemption from $75,000 to $100,000 in the upcoming property tax rate ordinance, according to city documents.

This increase would save existing properties $200,000 citywide, or an average of $43 per homestead property if approved.
