Entergy Texas officials announced a small delay in restoring power to parts of Montgomery County following the completion of damage assessments, which revealed a large amount of damage to power infrastructure in the area. According to the July 12 update for Montgomery County, Entergy has found:
- 315 downed poles
- 532,500 feet of downed wire (100.8 miles)
- 169 damaged transformers
- 519 broken crossarms
CenterPoint officials also provided an update on its restoration efforts, which saw 1.4 million customers restored since Hurricane Beryl made landfall. According to CenterPoint’s outage tracker, there are still 838,232 customers without power.
“Many of the outages we have resolved have related to trees and other vegetation damaging our electrical equipment in the sustained high winds we experienced during the storm," said Lynnae Wilson, senior vice president of electric business at CenterPoint. "Since Monday, crews have replaced over 2,000 poles and addressed damage from more than 6,000 trees impacting lines and other electrical equipment."

“In areas with significant structural damage, customers could experience prolonged outages, while crews work to install thousands of new distribution poles and new overhead conductors, as well as other critical electrical equipment,” Wells said.
Entergy officials conveyed they expect all power restoration to be completed by July 15. Customers can continue to monitor Entergy outages through the outage map.
