The city took over all maintenance, management and operations of the park from Galveston County on Oct. 1.
Volunteers can help clean-up and beautify the 28-acre park by pruning trees, replacing and building trashcan stands, painting bleachers and benches, and adding and spreading dirt on the baseball practice field, according to the post.
The clean-up will be a part of the city's annual "Fall Sweep" initiative, and all ages are invited; however, adults must accompany any children volunteers.

Update: The event was rescheduled from Nov. 5 to 12 due to the high chance of rain and wet conditions.
