With the polls closed and unofficial early voting results released by the Harris County Clerk's Office, Democrat Sean Teare holds a narrow lead over Republican Dan Simons for Harris County District Attorney.

What you need to know

Unofficial early voting totals show Teare leading with 591,524 votes, or 50.62%, while Simons has 577,101 votes, or 49.38%.

Simons won his spot in the November general election after unseating longtime Harris County District Attorney Kim Ogg in the March primary elections.

Results from Election Day voting will be available once all polls have officially closed.
