With all polling locations now reporting, unofficial voting results still show incumbent Randy Weber won the Republican race for U.S. House District 14 with 56,802 votes, or 89.14% of the votes.

Jefferson, Brazoria, Galveston and Orange counties had reported all of their voting locations by March 2. Results are still unofficial until they are canvassed and certified by the county clerk in the coming days.

Opponents Ruben Landon Dante received 2.86% of the votes, or 1,822 votes, and Keith Casey received 8% of votes, or 5,101 votes.

Weber, who has represented the district since 2013, did not immediately respond to Community Impact Newspaper's request for comment on March 2.

In a Q&A with Community Impact Newspaper, Weber mentioned how he would address issues of flooding in the area for residents.

"As a member of the Transportation & Infrastructure Committee in the U.S. House of Representatives, I serve on three different subcommittees, including Water Resources & Environment, with jurisdiction over the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. In fact, I’m convening a roundtable with other members of the Houston delegation and our Corps leaders, from the district headquarters there in Galveston, to coordinate our efforts on drainage in our region and mitigate the potential for flooding," he said.

Unofficial results are showing Mikal Williams as the winner for the Democratic primary race, with 50.18% of the votes. Weber will potentially face off against Williams in the November general election.

Weber has served in the position since 2013 and told Community Impact Newspaper what his top three priorities would be if elected during a Q&A.

“1. Sanctity of life is the bedrock of the government's protection of its citizens; everything else erodes beneath the weight of disrespect for human life. 2. Budget & deficit: as one military leader recently stated: 'The greatest threat to our national security is the budget deficit.' 3. Freedom, through adherence to God's Word—the Bible—and our Constitution. These have produced the greatest republic our world has ever known; to depart from them is folly,” he said.
