Update: 10:30 p.m.

With 41 of 46 Galveston County voting centers reporting, McAdam and Justin Hicks have maintained their leads for positions 4 and 5, respectively.

For position 4, McAdam has gathered 17,567, or 50.3%, of the votes as of 10:30 p.m. For position 5, Hicks has won 14,048, or 38.8%, of the votes.

If McAdam keeps at least 50% of the votes by the time all votes are counted, she will be the winner. It is likely, however, that Hicks will face the runner-up in a runoff election for position 5. Wes Chorn is in second place for position 5 so far with 12,107, or 33.4%, of the votes.

McAdam, a school principal, told Community Impact Newspaper, “I know how to do more with less and will approach the League City budget the same. As a public servant, I make unbiased decisions based on the information presented, which allows me to do what is best for all stakeholders.”

Hicks, a program and project manager in engineering, told Community Impact Newspaper, “I am unique from my opponents in that I work exclusively with large projects and budgets in the private sector, I'm responsible for meeting deadlines, staying under budget and reporting to stakeholders. None of the other candidates are beholden to stakeholders, which is exactly like being responsible to taxpayers!”
