Repairs at the East and West Agriculture facilities, multi-campus playground replacements at various elementary schools, and repairs for damage caused by Winter Storm Enzo were all approved at Clear Creek ISD’s board of trustees Feb. 24 meeting.

The overview

The costs of repairs at the East and West Agriculture facilities will be just over $1.9 million, according to district agenda documents.

The East Agriculture Facility serves Clear Creek High School and Clear Falls High School students, and the West Agricultural Facility houses animals from Clear Brook High School, Clear Lake High School and Clear Springs High School, according to the district’s website.

The repairs will be paid through the 2023 bond, district documents note.


According to bond documents from the district, the 2023 bond will pay for the following repairs and replacements for both facilities:
  • East Agriculture Facility:
    • Netting across barn ceiling to keep birds out of rafters
    • Adding a 10-foot-tall pole barn and convert existing cattle pens into small animal pens
    • Remediate pasture cross fencing
  • West Agriculture Facility:
    • Replace lockers from the original agriculture building
    • Replace aging pens in the original agriculture building
    • Add netting across barn ceiling to keep birds out of rafters
    • Remove and replace cracked concrete pavement
    • Remediate pasture cross fencing
    • Provide remote variable frequency drives for four high volume, low speed fans
    • Replace instantaneous water heater in girl's restroom in original section of building
The repairs are slated to be complete by July 31, except the generators, which will be completed by Nov. 21, according to district documents.

What else?

The board of trustees also approved a nearly $1.7 million multi-campus playground replacement project at its Feb. 24 meeting.

The project, which is paid through the 2023 bond, has entered its final phase, according to district documents.


The replacements will be carried out at the following elementary campuses:
  • Bauerschlag
  • Bay
  • Brookwood
  • Clear Lake City
  • Falcon Pass
  • Ferguson
  • Gilmore
  • Goforth
  • Greene
  • Hyde
  • League City
  • North Pointe
  • Robinson
  • Ward
  • Weber
Officials will complete the replacements by July 31, according to district documents.

One last thing

CCISD will be using capital and contingency funds to repair damaged coils on rooftop heat, ventilation and air conditioning equipment at various campuses and restroom ceilings at Clear Falls High School and Space Center Intermediate, district documents note.

The damages stemmed from Winter Storm Enzo and will cost $130,000, according to district documents.
