San Jacinto College will launch its fourth bachelor’s degree in spring 2026 for students to earn a Bachelor of Applied Technology in global logistics and supply chain management, according to a Feb. 10 news release from the college.

The new degree was approved at the board of trustees’ January board meeting, the news release notes. It will cover topics in transportation, logistics and supply chain management.

“This degree will not only prepare students for rewarding careers in logistics but will also strengthen the Greater Houston economy by supplying well-qualified professionals to meet industry workforce demands,” San Jacinto College Chancellor Brenda Hellyer said in the news release.


Next steps

Now that the degree has been approved by the board of trustees, the college will notify the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board and the Higher Education Regional Council, according to the news release.

San Jacinto College will also need to develop a curriculum proposal, which will be submitted to the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Schools for accreditation.
