Repairs at multiple schools, a roof replacement and the video board replacement at Challenger Columbia Stadium will begin soon after Clear Creek ISD’s board of trustees approved nearly $16.2 million in construction projects at its Jan. 27 meeting.

The overview

A large bulk of the construction projects will be funded through the 2023 bond, according to district agenda documents.

According to district documents, priority repairs, including upgrading walls, repainting buildings and replacing partitions will begin “immediately” at the following schools:
  • Bauerschlag Elementary
  • Gilmore Elementary
  • Weber Elementary
  • Falcon Pass Elementary
  • Goforth Elementary
  • Robinson Elementary
The funding for the projects were split in two packages. Bauershlag, Gilmore and Weber Elementary’s projects cost nearly $7 million, and Falcon Pass, Goforth and Robinson Elementary’s cost nearly $8.1 million, district documents show.

Construction for all schools is expected to be complete by July 31, ahead of the start of the new 2025-26 school year, according to district documents.

What else?

Officials will also replace the roof at the CCISD Technology Learning Center, which is located at 330 S. Iowa Ave., League City.

The project, which costs just under $600,000, will begin in the summer, and is expected to be complete by Aug. 22, according to district documents.

One last thing

The board of trustees also approved a contract with electronic board manufacturer Nevco Sports to replace the video board at Challenger Columbia Stadium.

The contract cost nearly $530,000, and will be paid through the 2013 bond and capital and contingency reserve funds, according to district documents.

At its Dec. 14 meeting, the board of trustees approved $1.2 million for the video board replacement project, as previously reported by Community Impact.

The $530,000 contract will strictly cover the construction of the video board, and not the electrical or technological costs associated with the video board project, officials said.

The video board will be installed before graduations take place in May, district documents note.
