Multiple schools throughout Clear Creek ISD will be receiving new, rented or repaired chillers after the board of trustees approved nearly $1.5 million for three projects.

What’s happening?

Clear Falls High School and Clear Creek High School will be receiving temporary chillers, according to district documents. Both schools will receive repairs to existing chillers, while Clear Creek High School will also be receiving permanent replacement chillers in addition to its repairs.

The temporary chillers for Clear Falls and Clear Creek high schools will cost $99,540 per campus, totaling to $198,900. These temporary chillers will last for three months while repairs are being made to the existing chillers, according to district documents.

Repair costs to both schools will be $120,950, according to district documents.


What else?

Clear Creek High School’s two permanent replacement chillers will cost $705,000 and will be installed during summer 2025, according to district documents.

Westbrook Intermediate will also receive permanent replacement chillers that will cost over $450,000 total and will also be installed during the summer in 2025, according to district documents. The number of chillers the school will receive was not specified.

Both installations will take 35-40 weeks, according to district documents.

“Two years ago, before we had all the financial difficulties from the legislation not coming through for us, ... one of the biggest things on our plate that was going to come due soon were these chillers, so I’m happy to see that it’s here, we’re taking care of it, and we have the money to do it,” board trustee Jeff Larson said at the workshop.
