In an effort to help provide parents and community members with needed information about Clear Creek ISD, district officials are launching a new online program aimed at teaching the ins and outs of the district’s work, according to a Nov. 28 news release.

What you need to know

Titled “CCISD YOUniversity,” the platform will offer online courses for adults to learn about a number of areas. According to the release, those topics will include:
  • Child behavior
  • College and career planning
  • School funding
  • School safety
The platform will be available to all different kinds of adults in the community, including parents, staff, volunteers and other community members, according to the release.

The cost is free, and users can access the courses with a username and password, according to the release. They are self-paced and on-demand with presentations given through video. Some courses will also come with supplemental materials.

What else?

One course included in the YOUniversity platform is for school safety training, according to the release. More than 5,500 people have completed the course.

The course selection will be expanded over time, according to the release.
