The Clear Creek ISD board of trustees recognized League City Mayor Pat Hallisey’s impact on the district ahead of his November retirement after serving in the role since 2016.

“He absolutely has supported public education and CCISD for so many years, and we are just so honored to be here and celebrate,” interim Superintendent Karen Engle said.

CCISD board President Jay Cunningham thanked Hallisey for his history of involvement in the district, including his time as a bus driver and volunteer.

“We can't thank you enough for your unwavering support of the district that spans over decades,” Cunningham said. “You and Janice have been fantastic partners.”

Hallisey emphasized his belief in the importance of a quality education, saying in a speech to the board that he credits CCISD for his daughters’ success. He called CCISD the most important economic driver for League City and the Clear Lake area.

“I am eternally proud of this district and what they do,” Hallisey said. “Instead of you saying thank you to me, I say thank you to each and every one of you.”
