Foodies around Houston can eat and give back to a cause for another month as Houston Restaurant Weeks has been extended until Sept. 30, according to an Aug. 28 news release.

What to know

Since it was started in 2003, the event has raised over $21 million for the Houston Food Bank and has provided over 60 million meals for food-insecure Houstonians, as previously reported by Community Impact.

“After discussions with owners, operators, and the Houston Food Bank, the decision was made to keep HRW going until the end of September with a reduced donation amount, providing a way for restaurants, staff and others that were impacted by financial distress after this summer to recoup," Katie Stone, president of the Cleverley Stone Foundation, said in a news release. "HRW has proven to be an annual traffic generator for the industry, and this seemed like a positive decision for those that have supported us for 21 years."

A portion of the sales will be donated to the Houston Food Bank. The pricing for the meals is as follows:
  • Brunch for $25
  • Lunch for $25
  • Dinner for $39-$55
