Several Seabrook parks will get upgrades in 2024 and 2025.

The gist

On Aug. 6, Seabrook City Council approved the decision to use $600,000 in funds from the American Rescue Plan Act to upgrade several city parks.

The upgrades include:
  • New shade structures at Pine Gully Park, Baybrook Park and Miramar Park
  • Restroom upgrades at Friendship Park
  • A new restroom facility at Brummerhop Park
  • A new pickleball court behind Monroe Field Splashpad
  • Light installations around the trail at Rex L. Meador Park

"These enhancements to our parks are a direct investment in the well-being and happiness of our community,” Mayor Thom Kolupski said. “By utilizing ARPA funds in this manner, we are not only improving our public spaces but also ensuring they are safe, accessible and enjoyable for all residents."

In addition to these projects, the city had previously allocated $2.8 million of ARPA funds to the Taylor Lake Water Line project.
